Liverpool in pole position to sign 23-year-old German striker

Merseyside club are interested in RB Leipzig centre-forward Timo Werner, however, an agreement is not in place for the possible transfer just yet. Pearce wrote, “Werner has been mentioned, but sources dismissed suggestions that there was an agreement in place.”

The Daily Star claim that Germany international could be a shrewd signing for Liverpool over the likes of Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz as a result of the €60m release clause in Timo’s contract. Werner has been phenomenal this campaign, contributing 20 goals and six assists in 20 Bundesliga games this campaign.

The 23-year-old striker has all the attributes to be the perfect signing for Liverpool. The German manager would undoubtedly have a good opportunity of taking his compatriots game to the next level, and the striker’s playing style fits in with the Merseyside club.

The German centre-forward has also established himself as a key figure for Germany in the last couple of years, Timo can hit superstardom with a successful Euro 2020 season this summer. The pacy German certainly has the natural finishing instinct needed to become one of his generation’s best centre-forwards.

Liverpool have fantastic consequences in the Premier League this campaign as they are leading the table. Merseyside giants signed several players during the summer transfer window like Sepp van den Berg from Zwolle, Harvey Elliott from Fulham, Spanish goalkeeper Adrian and English shot-stopper Andy Lonergan.
