Liverpool in pole position to sign €75m-rated Germany international
Reds have reportedly been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of the transfer of RB Leipzig centre-forward Timo Werner ahead of this summer. The 23-year-old striker has been one of the footballers to watch in Europe’s big five leagues this campaign, scoring 27 goals in 33 matches in all tournaments so far.
It’s clear a talent like this would bolster Reds, and he’s previously been linked heavily with Liverpool, with Jan Aage Fjortoft telling Empire of the Kop why he felt Klopp’s side were in pole position for his signature. The German coach wants to strengthen the front-line during the summer transfer window.
As well as that, Christian Falk has previously tweeted that Timo is a target for Liverpool and that he had a bargain release clause of just £50m. Apparently, though, it’s even better than that for the Reds his buy-out clause may be as little as half that price. Werner is a key figure for the national team and also played in the 2018 World Cup.
They also link Timo with the Reds but claim he can leave for only £25m a ridiculous price for such a top attacker. Reds supporters will surely be thrilled with this, though it may also open the door to other clubs to try and hijack the deal because one imagines almost every top team in Europe would want the German striker at such a low cost.
Liverpool have fantastic consequences in the Premier League this campaign as they are leading the table. Merseyside club signed Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg during the winter transfer window.
