Liverpool join the race to sign 27-year-old Premier League forward
Merseyside club have been tipped as one potential candidate to seal the transfer of Tottenham attacker Christian Eriksen. The 27-year-old star is notably nearing the end of his deal at London club and has been linked with a host of big names after an impressive spell in Spurs. He is one of the best forwards in the Premier League.
It’s easy to see why Reds might be interested in signing like Christian if they could land him on a free or the cheap this winter, and Jenas has named them as a club to keep an eye on in that regard. This would be a big blow for Man United, who have perhaps been linked most strongly with Eriksen in recent times.
“If I was Eriksen and the bid didn’t come in that I wanted to come in, I would sit tight, I wouldn’t rush,” Jenas said. “Not only can I move for free in the summer, but that brings in Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, all the big hitters, Man United, even Liverpool.” Jurgen Klopp wants to bolster the front-line as Adam Lallana already 31-year-old.
Merseyside club are not exactly short of quality attacking footballers at the moment but arguably lack a number ten in Denmark international mould since they sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in 2018. Danish attacker joined the Spurs from Ajax in 2013 with a €14m deal. He became a key figure for the club and scored many amazing goals.
Liverpool also linked with Leicester City playmaker James Maddison, PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe and Salzburg centre-forward Erling Haaland.
