Liverpool keen on signing 21-year-old Serie A playmaker
Giallorossi facing losses of up to a whopping €140m due to expected lack of UCL football, which means they’ll accept the sale of Nicolo Zaniolo. It’s claimed that Roma will be unable to refuse transfer offers for crucial footballers like Italy international because of the situation they’ve found themselves in.
Serie A giants value to Nicolo at between €60-70m, the playmaker is ready to make his come back from a severe knee injury by the midpoint of this month. Giallorossi sits 5th in Serie A, 12 points off a UCL spot with only nine matches remaining, meaning that the side will now have to ‘evaluate’ offers for right-winger Zaniolo.
The 21-year-old playmaker is a target for Liverpool. Bianconeri would usually be the only club in Serie A to make a move for the Italian playmaker, but Juventus’ financial situation now rules them out of the race. Giallorossi will also owe 15% of any proceeds from a future sale of Nicolo to the playmaker’s former club Inter Milan.
Jurgen Klopp’s current Reds squad have just cemented themselves as Anfield legends after winning the club’s first league title in 30 years, but Liverpool could certainly do with attacking players. Nicolo primarily plays as a playmaker or right-winger, the attacker registered six goals and two assists before being injured in January.
With Zaniolo adept either on the wing or as a No.10, the Italian gem could be exactly what Reds need, the playmaker can deputise for either of Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane or add more creativity in midfield.
