Liverpool keep a close eye on 22-year-old African forward

The Merseyside giants are reportedly set to pay nearly £32m for the transfer of Watford forward Ismaila Sarr to replace Sadio Mane. This is because Sadio Mane remains a top transfer target for Real Madrid this summer. Sadio has played a starring role in Merseyside club winning the PL trophy this campaign, as well as the UCL last term.

Reds won’t want to lose Sadio after his tremendous impact at Liverpool down the years, but Mane may well feel he’s achieved all he can at the Anfield now. It looks clear the 28-year-old winger could make a fine signing for Los Blancos, who could do with improving their front-line after a poor first campaign from Eden Hazard.

For Reds, Senegal international could make a fine replacement for Mane, even if losing their winger is a big blow. Ismaila shone in the PL with Watford despite their relegation to the Championship this campaign.

Reds have recently done well to sign talented young footballers and help them improve under the expert guidance of the German tactician, and Sarr looks like he could have similar potential. £40m may look like an absurd fee for a recently-relegated side that has no bargaining power, but it would still be a smart move on the Reds part.

The Senegalese forward would need no time to settle in whatsoever, not just because he’s been playing in the PL but also as he’s known to fellow countryman Sadio Mane, so much so that he’s even been likened to him on several occasions.
