Liverpool leading the race to sign 22-year-old France international
Liverpool reportedly look to have been given a major transfer boost in their rumoured pursuit of Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele. Merseyside club were severe contenders in the running for France international’s signature this transfer window.
While the 22-year-old winger doesn’t look urgently needed at Anfield, he has shown himself to be one of Europe’s most exciting young talents and one who could be an excellent fit under German manager’s tactics. Ousmane price is nearly €100m, and the Blaugrana want to sell him for a substantial fee to help fund a move for PSG attacker Neymar.
This sounds promising for Merseyside club, who could undoubtedly benefit from having more options beyond their first choice front three, with even top-class performers like Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino going through dry spells last campaign.
It seems nothing is stopping Reds from signing the French forward if they do decide to firm up their interest, so fans will hope to see movement on this soon. Merseyside club had an excellent consequence in the Premier League as they finished the competition in a second position.
Liverpool also won the Champions League final against Tottenham 2-0, and it is the first title for Jurgen Klopp. English club signed Sepp van der Berg this summer.
Reds heavily linked with Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, Ajax attacker Hakim Ziyech, Lille superstar Nicolas Pepe, Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir, Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes, Real Betis defender Junior Firpo, Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and Werder Bremen goalkeeper Jiří Pavlenka.
