Liverpool planning surprise move for €40m-rated Serbian centre-forward
Merseyside club could reportedly be offered the transfer of Real Madrid centre-forward Luka Jovic as part of a deal that would see Sadio Mane move to the Santiago Bernabeu. Senegal international is a target for Los Blancos, which makes sense given their struggles in front-line following the 2018 departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.
Sadio could help La Liga giants improve after his sensational form for Reds, and Liverpool could be offered cash as well as Serbia international for the forward. It stays to be seen if they’d accept such a proposal, with the German boss perhaps thinking of alternatives in that area as Reds with a strong interest in RB Leipzig star Timo Werner.
Luka, meanwhile, only joined Spanish club this summer and has struggled to settle since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt. Jovic looked a real talent in his time in the Bundesliga but has only one goal in 17 matches for Zinedine Zidane’s side so far.
There’s every chance the 22-year-old striker could still achieve his full potential with Madrid, but footballers don’t often get long to show what they can do at such a big club. Serbian centre-forward is a regular member of the national team squad which is already a big achievement for the footballer.
This could mean Real Madrid try to offload him, and Reds could be a decent choice for him to revive his career as Jurgen Klopp has so often improved footballers he’s coached in his time at Anfield and at previous club Borussia Dortmund.
