Man United are close to losing £300,000-a-week world-class midfielder
Red Devils will not budge on their £179m asking price for Paul Pogba when the transfer window re-opens in winter. France international failed in an attempt to force his way out of Man United during the transfer window, with Real Madrid Paul’s primary suitor.
The French manager is still determined to sign Pogba, and the Los Blancos will revive their interest in the midfielder in winter. However, Red Devils will continue to demand a massive fee for the 26-year-old playmaker after successfully seeing off La Liga giants advances during the summer.
Man United first choice is to keep hold of French star and tie him down to a new long-term deal. Agent Mino Raiola has held negotiations with the Red Devils to discuss Paul’s future and the possibility of a new contract. Pogba’s current contract ends in 2021.
Frenchman himself wants to join the Spanish club and is keen to make his exit from the Old Trafford next year. Paul’s brother Mathias Pogba revealed this week his sibling was in contact with Zizou, saying: ‘I know he’s spoken with a few players, but not Ramos.
Who? Ah, Messi. ‘Sometimes, not always. Zlatan. Griezmann, because of the national team. ‘I don’t know about anyone from Real Madrid.’ Los Blancos had a terrible season as they finished La Liga in a third position and knocked out from the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
UCL giants signed several footballers this summer like Alphonse Areola from PSG, Eder Militao from Porto, Ferland Mendy from Lyon, Rodrygo Goes from Santos, Eden Hazard from Chelsea and Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt.
