Man United are closely monitoring 33-year-old Croatia international
Red Devils could reportedly include teenager Tahith Chong in their offer to try and reach a deal with Juventus for Mario Mandzukic. After allowing both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to leave this past summer without bringing in any direct replacements, it could be argued that the Norwegian manager left himself short in front-line.
While wins over Spurs and Man City last week have brought them back into the mix for a top-four finish in the PL this campaign, they’ve still only scored 25 goals in 16 league matches thus far, giving them the second-worst goalscoring record of the top seven clubs in the standings.
In turn, adding attackers could be a priority for Man United in the winter transfer window, and they could be ready to propose a swap deal to Bianconeri to prise Mario away from Turin. it’s suggested that although there is an agreement between Red Devils and Mandzukic, they have yet to reach one with Old Lady.
With that in mind, it’s claimed Tahith could be used to sweeten the agreement as his deal is set to expire at the end of the campaign and he has already been linked with Serie A champions. Time will tell if that’s an offer that is officially submitted by Man United and whether or not it’s one that Bianconeri are willing to accept.
The 33-year-old centre-forward has yet to play a single game for the Italian giants manager Maurizio Sarri so far this campaign, and so he will surely welcome the chance to move elsewhere and try to play a prominent role.
