Man United given green light to sign €35m-rated English attacker
Jack Grealish has been told there is no guarantee he will be able to realise his UCL ambitions if he leaves Aston Villa for the Red Devils. Man United are eyeing a £70m summer deal for U21 England international, who helped Villans secure their come back to the PL last campaign and has continued to impress this term.
Jack is said to be interested in joining Man United and has reportedly told friends he wants to move to the Theatre of Dreams. But former England centre-back Joleon Lescott says a move to Old Trafford does have its problem, with the club still struggling under the Norwegian manager.
Man United are currently eighth in the Premier League six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea and will likely have to settle for another year in the Europa League unless they win the tournament this campaign.
Lescott said: ‘When you look at the spectrum of teams, Man United are still a big club, but in terms of Jack’s skill, if he leaves Aston Villa he’s going to want to play UCL and that’s not guaranteed at Old Trafford, even in the future. ‘I would love to see him test himself at the highest level because I think he’s capable of playing at real heights.
La Liga rivals Barcelona, and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in signing Jack this summer, but Tony Cascarino believes the Englishman will be joining Man United. The Republic of Ireland hero said: ‘I think he has got that Philippe Coutinho-type of performance. I believe several clubs could take Jack.
