Man United given green light to sign No.7 Bundesliga winger
Pep Guardiola has dismissed the possibility Jadon Sancho could come back to Man City as the winger targets an exit from Borussia Dortmund. Merseyside club and the Red Devils have been credited with a transfer interest in England international, who is valued at over £100m by his club.
Jadon forced his way out of Man City three years ago in search of a regular starting place and has emerged as one of the most sought after talents in football. The Spanish manager was quizzed about Man City’s mooted interest in their former footballer ahead of Cityzens’ game with Liverpool on Thursday.
Pep said: ‘No, no, no. He decided to leave. We wanted him to stay like Eric Garcia and Phil but he decided like Leroy now and myself, when I decided to move to other countries to be a manager, to move. He didn’t want to be here, so that is why I think he doesn’t want to come back here.’
Red Devils are the side who have been most linked with Jadon, although reports this week claim Man United are not willing to fork out more than £50m for the winger. Jadon is thought to be open to the idea of a come back to the PL, but the English winger has also attracted interest from Spanish clubs including Real Madrid.
Despite Red Devils reluctance to meet BVB’s huge asking price, that has not stopped supporters from looking for clues about the future of Jadon. Sancho did not appear in Dortmund’s official kit launch this week, leading Red Devils fans to speculate the BVB were convinced he would be leaving Germany in the next transfer window.
