Man United in advanced talks with 16-year-old talented right-back
Barcelona teenager Marc Jurado is ready to join Red Devils after announcing his exit from the Catalan club on Instagram. The Spanish defender posted a farewell message on his social media on Monday evening to thank the club for aiding his development since he joined them at the age of seven.
Marc has considered one of the brightest prospects in the club’s La Masia academy and Man United agreed on personal terms with the right-back earlier this year over a move to Theatre of Dreams.
La Liga giants had been desperate to keep the youngster and offered him a lucrative, long-term deal to remain in Spain but his head was turned by Red Devils offer.
Man United will have to pay a compensation fee to Camp Nou given the club helped train Marc from a young age but a fee of nearly £200,000 will be considered a snip for a footballer of his potential.
‘It’s never easy to leave a team that has given you everything. Barcelona has been my second home, my second family, where I have developed as a player and as a person,’ wrote Marc.
‘Today it’s time to say goodbye, but not before expressing my gratitude to each of the people who have helped me since I started in the prebenjamín in the year 2011.’
‘I have been lucky to share my passion with a fantastic generation, with which I will always be linked. ‘We started as boys who just wanted to run after a ball and I say goodbye, nine years later, calling them friends.’
