Man United interested in signing €20m-rated promising attacker
Dejan Kulusevski caught the eye of Red Devils chief scout while he was in Italy checking on the progress of Chris Smalling. Red Devils centre-back Smalling is on loan at Giallorossi for the campaign, but the club are yet to rule out a return to Theatre of Dreams for the English defender.
Man United scout was in attendance for Roma’s 2-0 defeat to Parma on the weekend. Although it was a bad game for Chris and his fellow Roma partners, Parma attacker Kulusevski caught the attention of Red Devils scout.
Dejan, 19, is on loan from Atalanta and has chipped in with five assists in his 12 Serie A matches. A report was compiled on Swedish ace by the Man United scout, and the Red Devils will continue to keep tabs on the youngster.
Premier League clubs Wolverhampton and Southampton have already been credited with an interest in Dejan, who is valued at nearly £21m by his parent club.
Naturally a right-winger, Dejan can play up front or in midfield, and Red Devils are desperate to add attacking options to their squad in January.
Injuries to centre-forwards has severely depleted the Norwegian manager’s options upfront at times this campaign. Mario Mandzukic has been heavily linked with a switch to Man United, with the Juventus centre-forward reportedly eager to join the Red Devils in winter.
As for Smalling, who the scout was in Italy to speak to, he admitted this week he misses Man United. Red Devils signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Harry Maguire from Leicester City, Daniel James from Swansea and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
