Man United join the race to sign 23-year-old Cameroon international
Red Devils are reportedly interested in signing Ajax shot-stopper Andre Onana. Cameroon international has been an integral figure for the Jews, making 160 appearances for the Dutch club across all tournaments with 69 clean sheets to his name. This campaign, Andre has kept ten clean sheets in 21 matches across all tournaments.
Red Devils are interested in signing Onana who is currently rated at £50m by Eredivisie giants. Man United already have David de Gea and Sergio Romero as suitable options in goal. Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants to strengthen the squad and ready to spend considerable money on the shot-stopper during the summer transfer window.
With the Spaniard signing a new deal a couple of months back, it looks unlikely that he’ll leave anytime soon. Hence, the 23-year-old shot-stopper may have to be on the bench if he moves to Man United. So right now, it will be best for the Cameroonian goalkeeper to remain at the Dutch club.
Man United aren’t the only club who are interested in signing goalkeeper as Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing him. Onana is a regular member of the national team line-up which is already a big achievement for the shot-stopper. Andre helped Ajax to reach the Champions League semi-final last season.
Red Devils started this campaign terribly as they are in a 7th place in the Premier League table. Man United signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Harry Maguire from Leicester City, Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace and Daniel James from Swansea.
