Man United keep a close eye on €120m-rated England international
Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has spoken out on the Jadon Sancho situation as the rumoured Red Devils transfer target was notably dropped to the bench this weekend. England international has been a star performer in his time with BVB, so it was something of a surprise to see him left out of Lucien Favre’s starting line-up to take on RB Leipzig over the weekend.
Jadon has been heavily linked with Red Devils by Christian Falk in the tweet below, as well as others in recent times. So Man United supporters will be intrigued to see some signs of things, not all being well for Sancho in Bundesliga, though Zorc seemed to try to play down any drama surrounding the winger’s situation.
Discussing the 20-year-old forward only making the bench against the Red Bulls, Zorc insisted it was only to do with fatigue as he has played a lot of games for the team recently. He said: “We have had many injuries in the past few weeks and have not been able to rotate like other clubs.”
“Jadon is completely tired and told the manager before the game that he had no energy to play 90 minutes. You saw that in the game.” Man United drew 1-1 with Tottenham on Friday and will be looking to return to winning ways with top-four rivals Sheffield United on Wednesday as their bid for the UCL qualification continues.
Paul Pogba impressed off the bench at Tottenham, linking well with Bruno Fernandes, and winning the penalty which the Portuguese playmaker dispatched. The duo could start together for the first time against the Blades.
