Man United keep a close eye on €40m-rated Mexico international

Raul Jimenez admits it’s flattering to hear his name linked with the likes of Red Devils in recent months but insists he remains ‘very happy’ at Wolverhampton for the time being.

Mexico international has had an impressive season at Molineux and set the record for the most goals scored by a Wolves footballer in a Premier League campaign when he netted his 14th of the campaign in the side’s 2-0 win at West Ham United earlier this month.

Raul followed this up with the just goal of the game in Wolves’ victory over Cherries last week and his outstanding form across the campaign has won him plenty of admirers, with the likes of Man United, Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham all credited with an interest.

Serie A giants Juventus have also been weighing up a bid for Jimenez ahead of the summer transfer window, However, Nuno Espirito Santo is determined to keep hold of the 29-year-old striker beyond the end of the campaign and Wolves have responded by slapping a hefty £90m price tag on the centre-forward.

Asked about the speculation surrounding his future, the Mexican centre-forward said: ‘First of all I am very happy here with the Wolves. I am in a place where from the first moment we made an incredible connection.’

‘I am no stranger to all that, every day a new team comes out, a new offer comes out, I do not know how many millions. It is good to know that they are talking about you, but what I have to do to make that happen is to continue doing my job here with the Wolves.’
