Man United keep a close eye on €50m-rated Liga NOS midfielder
Former England centre-forward Darren Bent believes Bruno Fernandes would be the ‘perfect’ signing for Red Devils this winter. Man United have been in advanced discussions to sign Portugal international since last Friday but are yet to satisfy Sporting’s demands with just over a fortnight remaining of the transfer window.
While Red Devils are willing to splash out £50m on Bruno, Liga NOS giants are holding out for an offer of closer to £60m for the highly-rated playmaker. Fernandes has informed Portuguese club that he would be keen on a move to Man United, but he will not force a transfer this winter out of respect for the team.
Norwegian manager is desperate to bring in a playmaker before the transfer deadline on January 31 and feels the 25-year-old playmaker can provide the spark his side have been missing all campaign.
This is a feeling shared by ex-Spurs forward Bent who said: ‘I think he’s made a few good additions already, but if he can somehow get this guy through the door as well I think he would be perfect. I like him. ‘If you can somehow get Paul Pogba back fit and convince him to stay and try and get him sorted.
Them two in the middle of the pitch and then even Scott McTominay who has done well. ‘If he can get that kind of three in the middle of the park, they’re onto something there.’ Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the funds are available for Red Devils to bolster if they deem it necessary this winter.
