Man United keep a close eye on No.7 Serie A goal machine
Red Devils are reportedly one of the clubs in the running to clinch the stunning transfer return of Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The 34-year-old attacker has recently come under the spotlight for what appears to be a bit of a row between himself and Bianconeri coach Maurizio Sarri.
The Italian manager has hauled Cristiano off in his last two matches for the Old Lady, with the former Man United and Real Madrid forward not looking quite at his best for much of this campaign so far. Ronaldo already played 14 matches, scored six goals and provided two assists in all tournaments.
It stays to be seen if this will lead to an exit, but Ronaldo is perhaps unsurprisingly now said to be attracting interest from big names like Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain. Portugal international has long been open to a second spell with Man United, for whom he was a star player between 2003 and 2009.
Portuguese superstar may be a risky signing now due to his age, but given the club’s shortage of quality upfront, he’d surely still be useful. Red Devils have also been linked with the likes of Mario Mandzukic, Timo Werner and Erling Haaland to strengthen their front-line, so could do with Cristiano Ronaldo as a short-term option.
The French club, meanwhile, could also surely benefit from signing the legendary forward amid doubts over the futures of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Ronaldo helped Man United to win the Champions League and Premier Leagues. He is one of the best footballers in Red Devils
