Man United keeping tabs with €35m-rated World Cup winner

Blaugrana have reportedly put a €30m price-tag on centre-back Samuel Umtiti as he continues to be linked with an exit as Inter Milan, Arsenal and Man United are all touted as potential destinations.

France international joined Barcelona in 2016, but he has been limited to 114 games in those four years and counting having suffered from injury troubles dating back to the last campaign.

Samuel is currently sidelined again after suffering a calf injury on his return to training after the covid lockdown, and so in the more immediate future, he’ll be hoping to recover and put himself in contention to feature when the La Liga season resumes.

In the meantime, speculation over his future at the Catalan giants seemingly refuses to go away, as Blaugrana have valued him at €30m, as he could be included in a footballer exchange offer to the Nerazzurri to land top target Lautaro Martinez.

However, it’s added that no talks have taken place between the two sides over such a deal as of yet, and while it’s emphasised that France international’s desire is to remain at Camp Nou, if he did leave, he would prefer a move to the Premier League as Gunners and Red Devils are both mentioned explicitly as interested sides.

Given his experience, quality and track record of winning both for team and country, Samuel would be a smart signing for most clubs around Europe to help them shore things up at the back and solidify the back-line. That said, his injury troubles, which included a problematic knee injury last campaign, are surely a concern.
