Man United manager approved sale of South American winger
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly set green light to the loan departure of Alexis Sanchez.
Inter Milan have been linked strongly with the Chile international, and it seems he could soon be cleared to complete the move to San Siro despite Manchester United’s rather worrying lack of depth up front, as the Daily Mirror says.
The 20-times English champions have already also sold Romelu Lukaku to Italian club this summer and did not manage to bring in a replacement before the transfer deadline for Premier League sides.
And while Alexis Sanchez has flopped spectacularly in his time at the Theatre of Dreams, it could be a mistake to let the winger go now when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has so little in the way of backup behind Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
The Red Devils would not be able to replace Alexis Sanchez and Lukaku until winter, by which time it may well be too late to save their campaign in the Premier League.
The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League last term, and it would be hard to argue they are any stronger now with this player exodus, even if Harry Maguire looks a significant signing in defence.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have already made an unconvincing start, dropping five points in their last two matches, so it will be interesting to see if the Norwegian manager does go ahead and let Alexis Sanchez go.
