Man United renewed negotiations with 6 ft 1 in La Liga defensive rock

Red Devils playmaker Paul Pogba is reportedly keen to play alongside Barcelona centre-back Samuel Umtiti soon. Paul has encouraged France international to leave the Blaugrana after what he perceives to be inadequate treatment towards him from the Catalan club over the summer.

This relates to Blaugrana trying to offload Samuel to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar. The report goes on to say that, whether Pogba stays at the Old Trafford or leaves for Real Madrid, he’d be keen on Umtiti joining him. Both footballers regularly play in the Les Bleus starting line-up and won the 2018 World Cup.

If Man United could end up signing the 25-year-old defender, it would no doubt be a superb addition for the Red Devils in something of a problem area. Although the Norwegian manager strengthened his defence with the signing of Harry Maguire this transfer window, he hasn’t made the most impressive start at Old Trafford.

While French centre-back has perhaps not been at his very best for a while now after some fitness problems, Umtiti would surely improve this Red Devils side if he could join and get back to his best. Samuel entered the Spanish club from Lyon in 2016 with a €25m deal.

He had an injury, and Clement Lenglet replaced him last season. Frenchman has contracted with the Blaugrana until 2023, and his release clause is around €45m. Chris Smalling wants to remain in Roma, Marcos Rojo preparing to leave Man United this January and Umtiti has a great chance to become an unchanged figure for the Red Devils.
