Man United started talks with 21-year-old Premier League midfielder
Red Devils and Chelsea may reportedly have been given a huge boost following recent links with a transfer swoop for Declan Rice. England international has impressed in the PL in recent campaigns and seems like he could easily make the step up to a bigger club in the near future.
Declan’s fine form has seen him linked with Blues, while Red Devils could also be in the running for the midfielder. In a boost to those clubs, it now seems like Hammers face cashing in on Rice for nearly £70m this summer or else they won’t be able to afford to make any additions of their own.
It stays to be seen if Chelsea or Red Devils would pay quite that much for the 21-year-old midfielder, but it might well be a decent investment. Chelsea have had a poor campaign defensively, so could do with signing the teenager either to fill in at centre-back or to offer more protection to the defensive from a defensive midfield role.
Red Devils have been similarly unconvincing at times this term, so would surely benefit from freshening things up a little, either by bringing in a better partner for Harry Maguire, or a long-term replacement for Nemanja Matic.
The Hammers could sell some other footballers, but it seems they’d accept £70m to let the English midfielder go as they seem increasingly likely to allow a departure for their star footballer. Man United signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting and Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua during the winter transfer window.
