Official: €35m-rated Reds transfer target joined German club
Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard will join Bayern Munich in this summer and he will sign a 5-year-contract with the German club. This is bad news for the Reds as they also wanted to add new top-class centre-back to strengthen the back-line. Now Klopp has to search for a new option during this winter transfer window. France international had an amazing season and paid big clubs attention.
Pavard joined the German club from Lille in 2017 with a €5m deal. He became an unchanged figure for the club and played many games excellently since joining. Last campaign Benjamin made 40 matches, scored one goal and made one assist in all competition.
This is an impressive result and he can improve his consequences with high-class teammates. The French defender is contracted with the Bavarians until 2024 and his release clause is around £40m. He is a regular member of the Les Bleus squad and also helped them to win the 2018 Mundial which is already a big success for the footballer. The 22-year-old defender scored a fantastic goal against Argentina and now he has a chance to win titles with his new club.
