Ole Gunnar Solskjær thinks that on loan winger has future in Man United
Norwegian coach has insisted that Alexis Sanchez could still have a future at Old Trafford amid allowing him to join Inter Milan on loan for the campaign. Chile international has been a colossal disappointment since joining the Red Devils from Arsenal in winter 2018 scoring only five times in 45 matches for the club in all tournaments.
Alexis endured an injury-ravaged 2018-19 season and barely featured under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after he replaced Jose Mourinho as a coach. It had been widely assumed that his move to Italian club marked the end for his Man United career, but Norwegian boss is adamant that is not the case.
Amid enduring a nightmarish time at Old Trafford, the 30-year-old winger showed flashes of his quality during the Copa America over the summer, scoring twice as Chile reached the semi-final. Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte will be hoping that Chilean star can rediscover his form in Italy alongside his former United teammate Romelu Lukaku.
Belgium international has backed Alexis to come right in Milan, saying: ‘He has had a difficult time at Man United. Coming here was the right move, in a good dressing room, where the Italian coach wants winners who can help the team.
Sanchez is going to be part of that. ‘He is going to add a lot of contest to the team we already have. Now it is up to him to show it. I believe Alexis is going to do well for Inter. We are here to help him out. Hopefully, he can add that little spark to our team.’
