PL club prefer to keep €35m-rated left-back amid Chelsea interest
Leicester City will reportedly refuse to sell left-back Ben Chilwell during the winter transfer window. England international has been in impressive form for the Foxes during the 2019-20 season, scoring once and providing three assists in 10 Premier League matches. He is contracted with the Foxes until 2024, and his price is around €35m.
Man United and Man City have both been linked with a move for Ben, while the London club are thought to be preparing a mid-season offer should the Blues be successful in appealing their transfer suspension, which for the moment is still in place until next summer. Frank Lampard wants to strengthen the back-line in summer.
However, Leicester City would not be prepared to sell Chilwell to Frank Lampard’s side at the start of 2020. Brendan Rodgers’s team are in a strong position when it comes to the 22-year-old defender’s future as the full-back has a contract at the King Power Stadium until the end of the 2023-24 season.
Neither Emerson Palmieri nor Marcos Alonso have convinced at left-back for the London club this campaign despite the team’s fantastic form under their new manager. English left-back is a regular member of the Three Lions squad which is already a big achievement for the footballer.
Chelsea have impressive results in the Premier League as they are in a third place in the table. Blues signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund and Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid recently. English club are unable to sign new footballers until next summer due to a transfer ban.
