Premier league side moved in to sign No.10 Arsenal fan favourite

Everton have reportedly shown an interest in signing Arsenal star Jack Wilshere on a free transfer in the summer.

The 26-year-old’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium ends at the conclusion of the season, and talks to extend his stay have reached an impasse over claims of a pay cut.

Arsenal are believed to be willing to let Wilshere leave on for nothing if an agreement not be reached and, as reported by The Mirror, Sam Allardyce is observing the situation.

The story claims that the Englishman would get a significant signing-on fee at Goodison Park, as well as wages higher than the £90,000-a-week currently being offered by Arsenal.

The Englishman is also understood to be on the radar of Italian trio AC Milan, Juventus and Sampdoria.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Everton are both interested in hiring their ex-midfielder Mikel Arteta, according to the Mirror.

Both the North Londoners and Everton are expected to be in the market for a new manager this summer.

Arsene Wenger is being tipped to leave the Emirates at the end of the campaign with the North Londoners questionable to make the top four.

Everton themselves have struggled under Sam Allardyce this term and are likely to be looking for a change in the dugout.

The Spaniard has never hidden his desire to go into management and took the first actions by joining Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff at Manchester City.

The 35-year-old is very thought of at both sides and stayed a popular figure between both sets of fans.

The report claims that Wenger is open to the opinion of the Spaniard replacing him if it meant him moving above into a different role at the club.
