Red Devils closely monitoring No.10 South American attacker
Red Devils have reportedly made an approach to Juventus over opening talks to seal the transfer of Paulo Dybala. The 25-year-old attacker is also wanted by Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain this transfer window, but Man United are claimed to have given the most active signals of intent so far.
Red Devils have requested direct contact with Bianconeri over negotiating this deal, with Paulo making sense as a target for Norwegian manager’s side. Despite not being quite at his best last campaign, Dybala has long looked a potentially top-class player, and he’d surely represent a significant upgrade on someone like Alexis at Old Trafford.
The Argentina international would likely cost nearly £89m in total, Old Lady would hope to bring in something close to that for the footballer, including add-ons and bonuses. That shouldn’t be too much for a club like Red Devils, but one imagines they could struggle to secure all the signings they want this summer due to their lack of UCL football.
Paulo may well feel he could win the tournament if he stayed at Allianz Stadium, or indeed if he moved to Bayern or PSG, whereas he wouldn’t even be playing in it with Man United. It will be interesting to see how this saga develops, but an attacker like this looks necessary for Red Devils amid doubts over Romelu Lukaku’s future.
Last season Argentine superstar played 42 matches, scored ten goals and provided five assists in all competitions. He also helped his national team to finish the 2019 Copa America in a second position. Man United strongly linked with Sporting superstar Bruno Fernandes.
