Red Devils keeping tabs with £65m-rated Serie A centre-back

Red Devils are keeping tabs with Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and preparing to make an offer in July when the transfer window opens again. Ole Gunnar wants to strengthen the back-line as Eric Bailly linked with several clubs, Phil Jones is in terrible form, and their back-up is necessary.

English club tried to add Senegal international last summer but he preferred to remain in Serie A. Chelsea and Barcelona also interested in signing him, and there will be a real battle for the footballer. His price could increase and become much more.

In this season, Koulibaly already played 36 matches and made two assists in all tournament. Little Donkeys won the game against Salzburg 3-0 and almost reached the Europa League quarter-finals. Kalidou joined the Italian club from Genk in 2014 with an €8m deal.

He became an unchanged figure for the club and paid attention with his performances. The 27-year-old player is a regular member of the national team and also played in the 2018 World Cup which is already a big success for the footballer. He has contracted with Napoli until 2023, and his release clause is nearly €75m.

Red Devils ready to spend big money for the player this summer but it will be difficult to sign him as Blues and Blaugrana also planning to make a bid during the transfer window.

Man United also linked with Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane, Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt, Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter, Argentine left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, Juventus footballer Alex Sandro and Portuguese right-back Joao Cancelo.
