Red Devils keeping tabs with €40m-rated La Liga winning footballer

Red Devils reportedly look to have been given a boost regarding Barcelona footballer Ivan Rakitic in this transfer window. The experienced Croatian midfielder has previously been linked with Man United, who stated he had a £45m asking price, and he’s one of several midfield players to emerge as potential targets this summer.

The deal could still be on as they also note of Red Devils interest in the likes of Sean Longstaff and Bruno Fernandes. Ivan, however, looks to be available as Blaugrana try to offload him as part of a deal to bring Neymar back to the Nou Camp from Paris Saint-Germain.

This report suggests this could be a chance for Man United to get involved in signing the former Sevilla man to fill the gaps in their midfield. Norwegian coach would surely see Rakitic as a significant upgrade on the likes of Nemanja Matic and Fred, who were both poor for most of the last campaign, while Ander Herrera also joined PSG.

The 31-year-old footballer joined the Catalan club from Sevilla in 2014 with an €18m deal. He is one of the best midfielders in La Liga and unchanged figure for the club. Last season, Croatia international played 54 games, scored five goals and provided ten assists in all competitions.

Rakitic is a crucial figure of the national team and also helped them to finish the 2018 World Cup in a second position which is already a big success for the player. Ivan has contracted with the Spanish club until 2021, and his release clause is around €40m.
