Schalke submit €30m offer for Chelsea midfielder
Schalke join the race to sign Chelsea footballer Danny Drinkwater in this summer. The Miners lost their two important midfielders Leon Goretzka and Max Meyer and they started to search for a new high-class player to improve their squad. German club had an excellent season as they finished Bundesliga on a second place and qualified in Champions League. So they started to strengthen the line-up for this campaign.
England international joined the Blues from Leicester City in 2017 with a €38m deal. In this season Danny played 22 games in all competition which is an awful result for the player. Leicester, Marseille, Crystal Palace and West Ham also keen to sign him and there is a real battle for the player. Schalke are in pole position as transfer window for Premier League clubs closed. London club have too many midfielders and there is no place for Drinkwater. The 28-year-old is contracted with the club until 2022 and his release clause is around €30m. This isn’t big deal for the Miners.
English midfielder also wants to leave the Blues as he keen to get regular game time. Schalke is the perfect option for the player as they need a midfielder. Sarri decided to sell Danny in this summer.
