Serie A giants join race to sign €20m-rated Man United transfer target
The race to add Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland is heating up, with Juventus interested in the talented youngster. Norway international has been linked with a host of Europe’s biggest clubs after scoring 18 goals in just 11 games so far this campaign for the Austrian club.
Having signed for Salzburg in winter of this year, Erling has already scored four hat-tricks, including one in the UCL in a 6-2 rout of Genk. Haaland has been heavily linked with Red Devils due to his connection with Man United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as it was he that signed Erling for Molde from his first club, Bryne.
However, Bianconeri have now emerged as contenders for his signature. Both are closely monitoring the 19-year-old striker’s situation and are likely to be part of any bidding war for him, should one emerge. Norwegian centre-forward has spoken out on the intense speculation over his future, labelling it ‘f*cking boring’.
‘The media attention is huge. It’s good pressure,’ said Erling. ‘The club is good at shielding me a little, but I hope it will be more shielding in the future. It will be difficult, but we will try. I want to be shielded. ‘It’s f*cking boring.’
Haaland has the opportunity to impress on the big stage again these days as he is in the Norway line-up for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers at home to Spain and away in Romania. He has picked up two caps for his country so far but is yet to get on the score sheet for Lars Lagerback’s squad.
