Serie A giants on the verge of signing €20m-rated Man United winger
The Nerazzurri are ready to announce the permanent signing of Alexis Sanchez after agreeing on a fee with the Red Devils, according to reports in Italy. The 31-year-old winger has spent the campaign on loan with Antonio Conte’s side and has impressed since Serie A restarted in June.
Man United have been keen to offload Alexis after he struggled to make an impact following his arrival from Arsenal in winter 2018. Red Devils and Nerazzurri have now agreed on a €15m transfer fee for Chile international and the deal will be announced after the Italian club’s Europa League game with Getafe on Wednesday.
Nerazzurri have already indicated that a deal is in place after they included the Chilean winger in their UEL squad list which was released on Monday. Alexis, who is on a £400,000-a-week deal with the Red Devils, has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with the Nerazzurri which keeps him at San Siro until 2023.
Alexis, however, could potentially be playing under a new boss next campaign following a rift between Antonio Conte and Nerazzurri’s hierarchy. Speaking over the weekend, Antonio admitted he was unhappy with what he perceived to be a lack of support from Inter chiefs.
‘It has been a tough year on a personal level, very tough,’ the Italian tactician said after Inter Milan beat Atalanta to finish second in Serie A.
‘I don’t think the players saw their work recognised, I don’t think I saw my work recognised and we all received very little protection from the club. We have to grow and improve in all areas, including off the field, and a big club should protect its players more.’
