Spanish giants keen on signing €180m-rated Man United long-term target
Los Bancos are reportedly ready to focus on signing Neymar if they fail to prise Paul Pogba away from the Red Devils before Thursday. La Liga giants have already been very active this transfer window, bringing in Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrygo to bolster French tactician’s squad.
It was needed given their bitterly disappointing season last year, and so it appears as though Zidane has added vital new components to his side. However, Spanish club may still be looking to make one more marquee signing, and if they fail to sign Paul before the transfer deadline, they may well focus their attention on landing Neymar instead.
Speculation has been rife over Brazil international’s future this transfer window, as he has also been heavily linked with a come back to Barcelona. With that in mind, there could be some concern at the Nou Camp if French star stays at Old Trafford, as the last thing that they need is for the competition from Real Madrid for their former attacker.
Good relations between Paris Saint-Germain and the Los Blancos could mean they make their move despite signing Eden Hazard already to strengthen their front-line. Last season Neymar played 28 games, scored 23 goals and made 13 assists in all competitions.
Time will tell if it gets to that stage, but the Catalan club may well have to sacrifice the likes of Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho to give them the financial flexibility to satisfy Brazilian star’s wage demands, it seems a highly complicated strategy with several pieces need to fall into place for a come back to materialise.
