Spanish giants tipped to make approach for explosive Chelsea winger
Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has been tipped for a future transfer to Barcelona or Real Madrid by USA manager Greg Berhalter.
After a slow start to his Stamford Bridge career following a £57 million move from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic has quickly developed into one of the English head coach Frank Lampard’s most important players.
The 21-year-old netted 14 goals and made five assists last season, helping the Blues secure UCL qualification by finishing fourth in the PL and reach the FA Cup final.
While USA chief Berhalter believes Pulisic is ‘perfect’ for the Blues, he says the forward has the potential to go on to play for Spanish heavyweights Barcelona or Real Madrid or German champions Bayern Munich.
Greg told Bild: ‘Pulisic is a leader at Chelsea at 21. It doesn’t happen that often that a player from the Bundesliga goes to a top club in England and immediately convinces there.
‘Christian is perfect for Chelsea. All dangerous offensive actions run through him, he shines as a goalscorer and as a preparer.
‘If Christian maintains this level, he can also play for the biggest clubs in the world like Bayern, Barcelona or Real Madrid without any problems.’
Meantime according to Marca, Kai Havertz had his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu in the current market, even turning down the advances of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
The report claims that the Galacticos were well positioned to sign the German before the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had a huge impact on the Spanish side’s finances.
Havertz’s agent is said to have been in contact with Zinedine Zidane’s side this summer to determine whether a summer deal could still be possible, but Frank Lampard’s outfit have since swooped in to sign him.
