Super Lig giants are desperate to sign €20m-rated Arsenal defender

Gunners centre-back Shkodran Mustafi will reportedly have transfer negotiations with Super Lig giants Galatasaray. Currently valued at €15m, Germany international hasn’t been a regular for the London club this campaign, making just ten appearances across all tournaments.

Shkodran has managed to find the net once in a Europa League fixture with Vitoria Guimaraes. Mustafi’s agent will fly to Istanbul to discuss a winter transfer with Gala. The report also claims that Fatih Terim is looking for some defensive reinforcements and the 27-year-old defender is someone the club are targeting.

Gala are currently 7th in the Super Lig table with 27 points, ten behind leaders Sivasspor. Gala needs some defensive reinforcements now, and someone like the German centre-back who has played in the PL could be a useful signing for them. Arsenal will accept the correct offer from the Turkish club this January.

Shkodran has fallen down the pecking order at Emirates, and maybe a move to the Turkish club could be best for him as he could find ample first-team chances there. Mustafi was a regular member of the national team squad and also helped them to win the 2014 World Cup which is a big achievement for the defender.

Arsenal signed David Luiz from Chelsea and William Saliba from Saint-Étienne last summer, and they have too many defenders in the club. Gunners heavily linked with Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng and RB Leipzig star Dayot Upamecano as Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen the back-line during the summer transfer window.
