Turkish club in pole position to sign €30m-rated Liverpool forward

Super Lig club Galatasaray are hoping to sign Reds attacker Xherdan Shaqiri in the winter transfer window. The Turkish giants are ready to send two officials to Liverpool next week in a bid to secure Switzerland international’s signing on a deal that would be an initial loan that would include an option to buy.

The report indicates that Xherdan is open to the idea of playing in the Turkish top-flight. Shaqiri bagged himself a goal on his first start of the campaign in Wednesday night’s 5-2 thrashing of local rivals Everton. Merseyside club signed the 28-year-old winger for a fee of £13m last summer.

Unsurprisingly, the Swiss forward’s game time for Liverpool has been limited given the clinical abilities of Reds frightening front three. Xherdan has played only five games for the Merseyside giants across all tournaments this campaign.

Former Premier League star Darren Bent recently that he believes this campaign will be Xherdan’s last at Anfield. Despite the interest, the ball stays firmly in Liverpool’s court with Fanatik adding that the German tactician will have the final say on a potential move for Shaqiri.

Although Swiss star’s playing time has been limited since he headed to Anfield, there’s no doubt that the 28-year-old winger has proved to a useful backup/rotation option for Liverpool.

Galatasaray have terrible consequences in the Super Lig table this campaign as they are in a sixth place in the table. Lions signed several footballers during the summer transfer window like Christian Luyindama from Standard Liège, Falcao from Monaco, Ryan Babel from Fulham, Steven N’zonzi from Roma and Emre Mor from Celta.
