UCL giants in pole position to sign No.5 Chelsea long-term target
Chelsea and Man United target Miralem Pjanic will turn down a move to the Premier League in favour of joining the Blaugrana. Bosnia international has established himself as one of the top midfielders in world football, and after winning a third consecutive Scudetto with Juventus last campaign is now set to take the next step in his career.
Miralem has decided he will only play for Barcelona, despite lucrative offers from Blues, Red Devils and PSG. Pjanic wants to play alongside Lionel Messi at the Catalan giants and believes the Spanish side’s style of play suits his game perfectly.
The 30-year-old midfielder was rumoured to be part of a player-plus-cash swap deal to bring Ma United player Paul Pogba back to Bianconeri this summer, but that move seems unlikely to happen now. Frank Lampard wants to strengthen the midfield during the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has been linked with an exit from Man United in the next transfer window, with the player’s agent Mino Raiola admitting in February that Pogba ‘would not mind’ a come back to Italy. Despite the financial impact of the covid19 pandemic, Man United are still expected to press on with their summer transfer business.
Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is top of the wishlist, while Red Devils are also reportedly keen on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Birmingham City’s midfielder Jude Bellingham. Dortmund chief Carsten Cramer dropped a hint earlier this week that the covid crisis could possibly force the club to drop their £120m asking price for Jadon.
