UCL giants no longer interested in 26-year-old Man United midfielder
Los Blancos would reportedly end their interest in the transfer of the Red Devils playmaker Paul Pogba if they can add Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar. Man United have faced a long summer of uncertainty regarding their star, with the transfer deadline now gone for Premier League clubs, but European teams still able to make transfers.
This means France international’s future stays unclear, as he’s still not guaranteed to stay at Old Trafford. However, there could be a significant boost for the Red Devils if Real Madrid end up signing the £100m-rated Neymar as that would no longer make Paul a top target for the La Liga club.
It stays to be seen if the Spanish giants will win the battle for the Brazilian forward, however, Barcelona are in for him and that his lawyers were spotted entering Blaugrana offices yesterday. The French midfielder joined Man United from Juventus in 2016 with a €105m deal.
Man United fans have long been split on Pogba, who hasn’t exactly been at his best in his time in England, though at this point it sure looks like the best thing would be for him to remain. Amid links with new midfielders throughout the summer, Red Devils failed to get anyone in and could do without the disruption of a big name leaving.
Real Madrid already signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea, Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt, Ferland Mendy from Lyon, Eder Militao from Porto and Rodrygo Goes from Santos this summer. Los Blancos heavily linked with Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek and Tottenham attacker Christian Eriksen.
