Willy Sagnol urges Liverpool to sign €180m-rated World Cup winner

PSG forward Kylian Mbappe would become a ‘king’ at Anfield under Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp, according to former French defender Willy Sagnol. Despite his young age, France international is already considered one of the best footballers in world football and has won four Ligue 1 titles and the World Cup.

Kylian left Monaco to join Parisians in 2017 and has scored an impressive 90 goals in 120 games for the Ligue 1 champions. The German tactician is a known admirer of Mbappe and Reds have been tentatively linked with a stunning move for the attacker, who would cost more than £150m.

While a move to the Merseyside giants appears unlikely for the time being particularly given the financial effects of the covid-19 crisis the 21-year-old forward has been told he would become a ‘king’ if he did join the soon-to-be Premier League champions.

Ex-France, Bayern Munich and Monaco player Sagnol said: ‘This club has a big advantage, as with Klopp you have a coach with whom every player in the world would like to work. Mbappe would have to adjust under him as he demands a lot of defensive work from his strikers, which Kylian is not good at yet.’

‘But he can learn that, especially from a guy like Jurgen . No question, Mbappe could become a king with Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.’

Merseyside giants are currently 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League and look ready to secure their first title in 30 years in the coming weeks, with the 2019-20 campaign set to resume on June 17. Last week, the French superstar described the Merseyside giants as a ‘winning machine’ and heaped praise on the German manager.
